I used several rubs, a Hawaii one, best bites, and now I can't remember, but I only rubbed the meat side. I finalized them with a touch of Agave and brown sugar meat side down wrapped.

Put them on the smoker for 3.5 hours
wrapped them for 5 hours
they were tender but eatable as a rib. I watched for how the meat started to pull apart, not fall off.
